Do the Bride a Favor Gives Wedding Budget Tips
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- Wedding budgets can be small or large but whatever that dollar amount may be, every bride is looking to get their dream wedding for less. The Huffington Post published a video on June 4th, 2013, entitled “Wedding Budget: Creative Ways to Spend Less on Your Big Day,” and Do the Bride a Favor is releasing their top five tips for saving money on weddings – no matter the budget.
1. Barter
Some vendors may be open to bartering for services. If the bride has her heart set on customized bridal favors, and has an in-demand occupation such as a dentist, inquire with the vendor if they would barter the favors for dental services, as everyone needs fresh breath! If the groom is a website designer or a mechanic offer his services. If the bride is a teacher, tutoring may also be a valuable skill to be bartered.
2. Buy Used
The wedding market is huge, and with that comes thousands of brides left with items from their wedding they will never use again. This opens doors for every bride to find their dream wedding items for less. Check online for used wedding accessories. Visit consignment shops, Goodwill, and vendor malls to save big on plates, flatware, décor, and even dresses.
3. DIY
DIY items may be all the rage, but make sure it makes financial sense before taking the plunge. Work out how much all of the supplies will cost and the time needed to create the piece versus purchasing completed items.
4. Save Coupons
Wedding item vendors such as craft stores and home goods stores will have coupons available on a weekly or monthly basis. Always check online and in local newspapers to find coupons. If possible, spread the wedding supply shopping out over months, and make a wedding supply shopping trip once a week to maximize on the discounts.
5. Be Flexible
Learning to be flexible about a wedding may be hard for the bride, however, a little compromise can go a long way in budget saving! Choosing items that may not be perfect, or booking a venue 10 more minutes away may end up saving the bride thousands. Be flexible with vendors, and search for alternatives that may be more affordable.
