Following an article by The Huffington Post published July 17, 2013, entitled “Online Wedding Planning Survey Reveals What Brides Are Doing Online,” is giving insight into the best items to DIY for a wedding.

Weddings that feature DIY (Do it Yourself) elements are becoming increasingly popular, however, many brides may be taking on too much. On July 18, 2013, The Huffington Post published an article about brides seeking inspiration for weddings online, and is using this article as a springboard to give brides advice on what aspects of a wedding are best to show off the brides DIY skills.

The first rule when it comes to planning DIY projects is to take a realistic look at the craft talents of the bride. When looking at online photo sites, many of these projects are done by professionals. If the bride sees custom designed reception favors, but doesn’t believe she can re-create it, opt for different flavors that are readily available or simpler to create.

Many brides will also tackle the task of tablescapes on their own. Picking a few key items to place on each table, along with a few surrounding accents makes tablescapes an easy project to DIY.

Escort cards and table place cards are one of the other items that many brides decide to tackle. Many simply download a font that fits the theme of the wedding, or use an online program to create seating charts and escort cards that are able to be printed on a computer loaded with cardstock paper. Brides can customize these with clip art images, stamps, or by adhering wedding themed items.

The Bride Design gives tips to brides on the most popular items to DIY for a wedding. These include wedding favors, escort cards, and tablescapes.

The Bride Design offers brides and event planners creative insight on how to incorporate stunning candy-themed items into a wedding, along with décor advice and wedding tips.
