World Federation of Great Towers Members Around the World All Stand with Paris
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- In the days following the November 13 terrorist attacks on the City of Paris, members of the World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT) came together to demonstrate #WFGTSolidarityforParis as France and the rest of the world reel from the incursions. 20 of the world’s most-loved landmarks were lit red, white and blue to emulate the French flag as tourists and residents looked on.
The initiative comes on the heels of the Federation’s annual conference, where member collaboration and strengthening the global community were two key points of emphasis. The brains behind these iconic structures have long supported each other in times of struggle and triumph, and this most recent show of solidarity has been praised and covered extensively by international media.
Remarks WFGT Executive Director Daniel Thomas: “We globally stand a little taller this past weekend and will continue to extend our support to the victims, their families and the people of Paris, France. In times like these, the people of Paris need to know we stand united and are thinking of and praying for them.”
Travel and tourism leaders as well as visitors are encouraged to continue using the #WFGTSolidarityforParis hashtag in the coming weeks as the country continues in its recovery.
