Wheaton Family Law Attorneys Appointed to DuPage County Bar Association Leadership Roles
Wheaton, IL (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- The DuPage County family law firm of Anderson & Associates, P.C. is proud to announce that Attorneys Kiley M. Whitty, Dennise L. McCann and Christopher J. Maurer have been appointed to take on leadership positions within the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA).
Wheaton family law attorney Kiley M. Whitty was recently sworn in as Assistant Treasurer of the DCBA for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. As Assistant Treasurer, Whitty will serve on the DCBA Executive Committee and Budget Committee. She will also serve her fourth term on the Planning Committee this year.
Whitty obtained her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and obtained her B.A. in both Political Science and Speech Communication from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She focuses her legal practice on family law matters including: divorce, high-asset divorce, child custody, child support, maintenance, and post-decree issues. She also assists clients with legal matters pertaining to complex divorce issues involving bankruptcy, foreclosure and estate planning. Whitty is a certified Guardian ad Litem for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit in DuPage County. She is the Immediate Past President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers (D.A.W.L.) and has been recognized as a 2015 Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star.
Wheaton divorce lawyer Dennise L. McCann will serve as the 2015-2016 Chair of the DCBA Bankruptcy Section. In this role, McCann will be responsible for organizing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars, submitting articles for publication to the DCBA Brief, presenting information regarding court rulings and legal updates. She has been an active member of the Estate Planning Section, Elder Law Section and Family Law and Practice Section. McCann obtained her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago and obtained her B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. With over 20 years of legal experience, she focuses her practice on divorce, family law, adoptions, paternity, child custody, and guardianship. She also assists clients with estate planning, probate, and bankruptcy matters. McCann is a certified mediator and Guardian ad Litem for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit.
DuPage County divorce attorney Christopher J. Maurer will serve on the Editorial Board of the DCBA Brief Magazine for 2015-2016. This year marks Maurer’s third year serving on the Editorial Board. The goal of the DCBA Brief Magazine is to provide current and detailed information about the association, the DuPage County legal community, and developments in Illinois law.
Maurer obtained his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and obtained his B.S. from the University of Illinois. He brings over ten years of family law experience to his legal practice which he concentrates on divorce, complex divorce, litigation, paternity, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, child custody and child support. Maurer is a certified Guardian ad Litem, Child's Representative, and Attorney for the Child in the Sixteenth and Eighteenth Judicial Circuits of Illinois.
