ZipList Announces Shutdown in December 2014; Whisk.com Steps in to Fill Void

Whisk.com allows users to create a shopping list from any recipe

With a simple line of code, Whisk can replace ZipList and deliver full shopping list capabilities to any recipe site, free of charge.

Following the announcement last week that ZipList will be closing down in December, Whisk.com is offering ZipList partners and recipe publishers the ability to replace their shopping list functionality with Whisk's free service.

Whisk works seamlessly across recipe publishers to deliver shopping list functionality within their sites. Integration of Whisk’s smart shopping list technology within recipe publisher and blog sites is free, fast and only requires one line of code. Whisk offers partners full functionality within a few days, ensuring a consistent experience for ZipLists’ current partners and users.

Whisk’s “Add to Shopping List” button appears alongside online recipes, allowing users to instantly create a shopping list from any recipe. These smart shopping lists can be viewed on mobile devices so users can tick off items as they shop, printed out to bring into the store, or emailed to family members for collaboration.

Current Whisk partners include Food Network, Woman & Home, and Allrecipes, the world’s largest digital food brand, which receives more than 1 billion annual visits across their 19 international recipe sites. The company is also partnered with a number of leading food brands, including food and spice giant McCormick.

The Whisk “Add to Shopping List” button has received more than 100 million annual impressions over the last year. The popular iOS and Android apps continue to gain traction and the Whisk app was featured recently as one of the "Best New Apps" in Apple's App Store’s food and drink category.

Whisk users in the UK also enjoy the benefit of quickly uploading shopping lists directly into online grocery carts. Whisk has secured partnerships with leading UK grocers Tesco, Ocado, Waitrose and Asda. Whisk will be announcing international grocery store partnerships in the coming months.
