Google Announces It’s Phasing Out Its Wildfire App Platform: Wildfire Clients Turning to ShortStack as the Best Alternative for Facebook Pages, Contest and Promotions
Reno, Nev. (PRWEB) March 26, 2014 -- According to an article written by Business Insider on March 14, 2014, Google recently announced that it is shifting attention away from its WildfireApp platform and will focus instead on its DoubleClick advertising program. Businesses looking to transition away from Wildfire are choosing ShortStack, a self-service custom app building platform, as an alternative for their Facebook Page apps and promotions.
According to a statement on Wildfire’s blog on March 13, 2014:
“The Wildfire Social Marketing Suite, which helps businesses manage their posts and content on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest, will continue to be supported, but further investments will be limited: We won’t be building new features or signing up new customers. Our focus will be on integrating Wildfire’s technology with our ad technology platform and building new features.”
The announcement leaves a variety of enterprise-level businesses currently running Facebook Page apps and promotions on Wildfire with the task of finding a new provider to host their apps. Wildfire customers have been told they have until the end of the year to find a new home for their Facebook Page apps and promotions.
“The biggest challenge for businesses is having to transition from a platform that is an all-in-one for Facebook management, to needing to find individual tools to fulfill each social need,” said Jim Belosic, CEO, ShortStack. “Hootsuite and others have great alternatives for Wildfire’s monitoring tools, but we’ve seen many businesses turning to ShortStack for their Facebook app, contest and promotion needs. Plus, not every business needs all the tools that Wildfire currently offers. We’re working with Wildfire clients to provide an easy transition so they can keep their apps and promotions running.”
ShortStack is the preferred platform for more than 300,000 businesses and is providing priority support to current Wildfire customers who transition their apps to the ShortStack platform.
“We’re working with individual Wildfire customers to discuss their social media goals and strategies to make their transition to ShortStack seamless,” said Belosic. “We’ve had many inquiries from existing Wildfire customers who are excited to continue their campaigns with our platform. Our price point is quite a bit lower than Wildfire’s and we offer some different benefits and capabilities which have been attractive to transitioning users.”
ShortStack has more than 40 customizable Widgets, including integrations with Twitter, MailChimp, Aweber, Constant Contact, Instagram, RSS, YouTube and more (SalesForce is coming soon!). The software provides more than 100 templates for businesses to use as guides when creating their custom Page apps but businesses with web and graphic designers on hand can also build custom apps from scratch. ShortStack takes a hands-off approach giving their clients full control of the creation, editing and installation of their apps. With an online support team that works around the clock, ShortStack has an average response time of one hour for customers who have questions or concerns about their apps.
The ShortStack platform offers a variety of attractive benefits for businesses large and small to help them save time, reduce the number of apps required for a multi-channel campaign, collect data and contest entries from Facebook Timeline and integrate with common email and marketing platforms.
“We have worked with a variety of enterprise level companies including NBC News, AMD, NewEgg, Mrs. Butterworth’s and IGN,” said Belosic. “We have the capabilities and software to provide a great home for Wildfire customers who want to have continued success with their Facebook apps.”
ShortStack’s pricing is based on the the size of the audience served, and one account can be used to create an unlimited number of apps for as many Facebook Pages as you need. Paid plans start at $30/month. Businesses with audiences greater than 1,000,000 can email ShortStack to discuss enterprise-level pricing plans at enterprise(at)shortstacklab(dot)com.
