Author Willie H. Lattimore provides a glimpse into life in the 1960s and beyond in his new memoir, “Never Forget … : The Lattimore Story” (published by Abbott Press).

“I like to think that my book gives a perspective of life growing up in rural America that may not have been heard of before,” Lattimore explains to potential readers. “I use my family to identify some of these things and I try to make the reading funny so that you are not so bored.”

Written in a conversational style, “Never Forget …” reveals Lattimore’s experiences growing up in rural Alabama during the 1960s. He writes about how his family shared joys, overcame obstacles and expanded the roots of their family tree. His stories show what life was like when racism was prevalent, food was preserved in unusual ways, corporal punishment was the norm and castor oil was the preferred remedy for every ailment under the sun.
