Philadelphia labor, employment, workers’ compensation and family law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that Joseph D. Richardson has been made a partner of the firm.

Richardson concentrates on labor law, advising union clients on strategy and counseling them on collective bargaining matters. He writes frequently on the policies and decisions of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and their implications for workers and labor unions. He has been recognized for his excellence in labor and employment law by Thomson Reuters, which has named him to its list of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars.
Before joining Willig, Williams & Davidson, Richardson spent seven years as a field attorney with the NLRB in San Francisco and Philadelphia investigating unfair labor practice charges and representing the Board in administrative hearings and injunction proceedings in U.S. District Court. He also represented his co-workers as an NLRB Union local president and served as a pro bono arbitrator for denials of service at homeless shelters in San Francisco.
Richardson earned his law degree from American University Washington College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude, was awarded the Order of the Coif, and served as an editor on the Administrative Law Review. Prior to law school, he served five years in the Marine Corps, where he learned Arabic and was selected for an elite Marine reconnaissance unit.
