The Texas Hill Country has become one of the nation’s premier wine growing areas. Its emerging reputation and growing number of wineries and tasting rooms is attracting legions of wine enthusiasts year round. At the heart of the region, in Fredericksburg, Brandon Moon has started Moon’s Vineyard Voyages, a wine tasting tour company, which provides wine aficionados of all ages access to the best of Texas Hill Country wineries. (Yes, children can come on the tour as well.) A new state-of-the-art website promoting the tours was unveiled this week.

Wine Enthusiast and USA Today have recognized the Texas Hill Country as one of the 10 Best Wine Destinations in the country. We have made it easier for people to access the exceptional wineries in this area by organizing a daily wine tasting tour of some of the best Texas Hill Country has to offer. We provide the transportation, arrange the wine tastings, provide a fantastic lunch for full day tour of five local wineries,” explains Brandon who saw a need for such tours as the area expanded.

The tour starts with Moon’s 14 passenger shuttle bus picking up participants at their Fredericksburg hotel or bed and breakfast around 10:30 am. From there, they visit five wineries where tastings have been arranged. The shuttle supplies secure storage for any purchases and complimentary water is provided onboard.

The participating wineries include :

  • Pedernales Cellars
  • Hilmy Cellars
  • William Chris Vineyards
  • Rancho Ponte
  • Grape Creek
  • Fiesta Winery
  • Six Shooter Cellars
  • Inwood Estates Winery and Bistro

For lunch, tour guests visit Inwood Estates Winery and Bistro to taste their wine as well and partake of the cuisine of renowned local chef Jayson Cox. The day ends around 4:30 pm.

The cost of the tour is $145 plus tax per person with transportation, lunch and wine tasting costs all inclusive.
