New Trending Wine Regions of Spain Capture Gold Medals from Tastings.com
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 30, 2015 -- Spain has eclipsed France and Italy as the largest exporter of wine to the world and Tastings.com knows why. The American wine review organization received 68 submissions from 35 wineries located in the Spanish regions of Ribera del Duero and Rueda for a special blind tasting. The tasting took place at the Beverage Testing Institute facility in Chicago. "The quality and value coming out of Spain today is remarkable," says Jerald O'Kennard, director at Tastings.com. “Out of 68 submissions, 18 wines won gold medals, 43 took home silver and 7 bronze and over a third were awarded with a ‘Best Buy’.” See the complete list of results.

Tastings.com tests over 2,000 wines annually and offers objective, third party reviews that winemakers use for quality control and marketing purposes. "We offer a level playing field where all different types of wine can be rated and reviewed without bias," said O'Kennard. Luis Garcia, the US sales manager for Grupo Matarromera noted, "Our Emina winery has just started being imported in the US so thanks to this competition we can help our importer start developing the brand and close distribution agreements."
