Wing®, the First Way to Prevent Asthma Attacks, Exceeds $50K Funding Goal on Indiegogo
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- Wing®, a pocket-sized sensor and powerful app that measures lung function with medical-grade accuracy, has exceed its $50,000 fundraising goal in just 28 days. Sparo Labs, the creators of Wing, will bring the crowdfunding campaign to a close in two days, on 11/21. The campaign has raised almost $52,000 to date.
“Running this campaign has provided people with asthma and other respiratory conditions the opportunity to be the first to get Wing, and help spread awareness about the impact of these overlooked conditions,” Co-founder Abby Cohen said. “The feedback we have received and the community we have built will be invaluable to our development and mission to help people breathe their best.”
Wing’s pocket-sized sensor and powerful companion app takes the fear and uncertainty out of asthma. By plugging the simple, smartphone-powered sensor into the headphone jack of their phone and launching the Wing app, users can easily measure their lung function with medical-grade accuracy by blowing into the sensor. Wing provides users with instant results that are easily explained through a “stoplight” zone system. This green/yellow/red zone system gives a clear description of how a user’s lungs are doing in order to detect declines in lung function early and take the right action at the right time to help prevent asthma attacks.
Besides helping those with asthma, people with other respiratory conditions, such as COPD or cystic fibrosis, can also benefit from using Wing. Anyone who is interested in better understanding their lungs, including quantified selfers, athletes, or even wind musicians, can also use Wing to measure and track their lungs.
Wing is currently compatible with iOS 8 and later, with an Android app in development. Sparo Labs has submitted a 510(k) FDA application for Wing and is currently pending FDA clearance. Indiegogo backers are able to contribute $99 (33% off retail price) to Wing’s Indiegogo campaign to accelerate development of Wing, and in return, contributors will be the first to get Wing once it is available.
