Winter Park & Fraser Chamber Announces 33rd Annual Winter Park Jazz Festival, July 18-19
Winter Park, Colo. (PRWEB) April 03, 2015 -- Today, the Winter Park & Fraser Chamber announced the dates, lineup and ticket sales information for the 33rd Annual Winter Park Jazz Festival, part of the Odell Brewing Concert Series, presented by Colorado Access and Real Estate of Winter Park, to be held in Hideaway Park, located in downtown Winter Park, on July 18-19.
The headliner for the Saturday, July 18 performance is an 11-time Grammy winner with 11 solo albums of his own - Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. In modern pop music history few creative forces have been more seminal or impacted the contemporary pop/urban genres as much as Edmonds. In a relatively short time he has reached icon status as a poignant tune smith, prolific hit maker/producer, superstar recording artist, and revolutionary label owner.
The Sunday, July 19 headliner is Morris Day & The Time. Morris Day burst onto the public scene with the group's self-titled album, The Time, which included "Get It Up," "Cool," and "Girl." Soon after the world was introduced to the former Prince band member and music marvel, the group went on to record three more albums, including What Time Is It? and Ice Cream Castle. The later album, the group's most popular, is best remembered for the infectious singles "Jungle Love" and the Rufus Thomas-influenced, "The Bird." With their palpable pop energy and catchy choruses, the songs were hits on both urban and pop radio.
Tickets may be purchased by calling the Jazz Festival Box Office at (888) 409-5974 or online at http://www.altitudetickets.com/event-groups/winter-park-jazz-festival. V.I.P. tickets will be priced at $65 in advance ($75 day of show).
Back again this year, an add-on for Express Lane allows festival-goers quick access into Hideaway Park one hour before the main gates open (first 500 attendees). The cost is $25 in advance ($30 day of show) with ticket purchase. A “book early” special is being offered for two drink tickets included with any V.I.P. or G.A. ticket purchase through the end of business day April 13.
Executive Director of the Winter Park & Fraser Chamber, Catherine Ross, says this year’s event is indicative of the quality music this summer festival has come to represent. “For three decades the Winter Park Jazz Festival has been a treasured tradition for locals and visitors alike,” she says. “From the intimate venue in the heart of Winter Park to the well-known national and regional acts, the Jazz Festival is a really special celebration.”
