Wisconsin Expands Simplifile E-recording in Iowa and Polk Counties
POLK COUNTY, Wis. (PRWEB) August 05, 2014 -- Wisconsin has expanded electronic recording (e-recording) of documents in Polk and Iowa counties, giving customers the ability to submit documents online through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider, saving time and money.
“My office is continually evaluating programs and procedures to assure a high level of accurate, timely service for our citizens and customers,” said Iowa County Register of Deeds Dixie Edge. “[E-recording] has been a very positive experience for both our customers and the county.”
Instead of sending documents by mail or driving to the register of deeds’ office, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys and others can electronically scan, upload, and submit their documents to the county for recording in minutes.
Once received through Simplifile’s web-based service, the register’s office can review, stamp, record, and return the documents back to the submitter, eliminating mailing delays and cutting down on paper expenses.
“Our goal is to make our office as accessible as possible, and Simplifile helps us achieve this by providing excellent reporting and document tracking,” said Polk County Register of Deeds Laurie Anderson. “Documents can be accepted, filed, and returned all in one day. E-recording is not only user-friendly for customers and staff, but it’s also more cost-effective.”
Other benefits of e-recording include fewer payment errors and fewer rejected documents.
With the addition of e-recording in Polk and Iowa counties, there are now 42 e-recording counties in Wisconsin.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
