Without Permission was founded in 2009 with the goal of raising awareness of the heartbreaking truth of human trafficking and sexual slavery as it exists in the United States and the Central Valley. While this is the third iteration of the Freedom Run presented by Without Permission, this is certainly not the first time that the advocacy group has served the community in the course of their mission. Without Permission has offered training to members of the criminal justice system, including police officers, probation officers and Juvenile Court judges. The group has also partnered to raise funds for the Family Justice Center and Free International of Las Vegas, among others.
Through their outreach efforts, Without Permission has educated thousands our neighbors about the tactics and methods of human trafficking and sex slavery. When Without Permission founder Ms. Johnson first heard of the evils of human trafficking and sex slavery, she was appalled and compelled to take action. Over the course of the last two years Without Permission has touched the lives of 65 victims trafficked in Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties. The Freedom Run, which will again serve as a fundraiser, will allow them to purchase local law enforcement equipment needed to build the case against a trafficker. This is just one of the good works that the group does with the goal of eradicating human trafficking and sex slavery from our cities.
