Di Ai Hong Sam, Known as Sam Nguyen, Crowned the Ms. National United States Woman of Achievement 2016
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- Distinguished pageant beauty Sam Nguyen, known to many as Di Ai Hong Sam, walked away with one of the top honors at the Annual National United States Women of Achievement Pageant on November 15, where she was crowned the Ms. National United States Woman of Achievement 2016. In addition to this prestigious award, she was a Top 6 Platform winner on the subject of Foster Care Reform and received the Brad Harper Style Award at the pageant. Nguyen earned recognition for her commitment to her community service and leadership when she received a Certificate of Recognition from Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia. The pageant was held at The Queen Mary, Long Beach "Queen-Salon" Ballroom.
In honor of her continued devotion, leadership and service, Nguyen was awarded a Lifetime Presidential Award from President Barack Obama in 2015.
The Annual National United States Woman of Achievement Pageant honors exceptional women who excel in their communities. It awards recognition and grants for community service and/or self improvement through the arts and public speaking. The pageant is based on personal interview, speech or creative expression through the arts, fitness, formal wear and volunteer community service.
Nguyen has earned several pageant titles, including: Ms. Texas Woman of Achievement 2015, Miss Asia Woman of Achievement International 2014, and Miss Vietnam University of Lincoln Nebraska 1994.
Nguyen, a television personality and philanthropist, was bestowed the title at a grand celebration at the Queen Mary. Nguyen will use the new honor to spotlight attention to her Stable Anchor Manor (S.A.M) Foundation, which helps homeless, runaway and at-risk youth anchor their lives onto the right path.
Vietnam-born Nguyen is taking her latest accomplishment to new heights and wants to call attention to her organization the S.A.M. (Stable Anchor Manor) Foundation, which she is currently funding. The foundation is partnering with Caring Voices and will hold an event Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 26 in Santa Ana, California where S.A.M. will purchase and give away 200 blankets and sweaters and Caring Voices will feed the homeless. Nguyen is working to make her foundation an official non-profit organization in the future.
The S.A.M. (Stable Anchor Manor) Foundation was established in Texas during 2009 for the purpose of helping homeless, runaway and at risk youth anchor their life onto the right path. Her next great ambition is to open another S.A.M home in Orange County, California in 2016. “There is a still a lot of work to be done, and countless children in need. I hope that all of my accomplishments in the spotlight continue to shine a light on these causes,” Nguyen said.
Nguyen’s recent victory adds to her credits as a decorated pageant winner who continues to show she has more to offer than beauty and charm. Despite her storied career as a pageant contender and title holder, Nguyen has remained true to heart by not only publicizing her love for children in need, but by fostering and nurturing children in her own home. Nguyen currently has 8 foster children in her home and has several children of her own. Nguyen takes inspiration from her mother who had 11 children while also fostering and adopting 12 more children.
“I feel blessed to be able to give back to children. I have seen that through proper guidance, schooling, love and motivation, all of my children blossomed into brilliant young people. Children just need a caring, attentive environment to develop into strong, contributing members of society. I want to continue to highlight this philosophy through my platform and the S.A.M. Foundation,” Nguyen said.
Nguyen is an accomplished scholar and entrepreneur, earning her graduate degree from the elite Harvard Business School. Nguyen is also a Doctor of Naturopathy, N.D.s, and strives to provide the healing power of nature and the understanding of the body, mind, and spirit. These monumental experiences have allowed her to develop her business acumen and establish non-profit organizations that advance her personal platform of community service and finding homes for children. Nguyen is also experienced with fundraising for Vivo Nam, a Dallas-based non-profit organization, and One Body Village International Human trafficking.
