Women in the IT and Telecom channels are growing in number and power. WiC is dedicated to given them opportunities to grow, network, and to share best practices.

Women in the Channel (WiC) and Telarus, Inc. co-hosted a special networking reception on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 during the Telarus Partner Summit 2013 which took place in Deer Valley, Utah on June 18, 2013, as the event's opening program.

This is the first time that a WiC networking event has been hosted outside of its usual bi-annual gathering during the Channel Partners Conference and Expo, allowing the organization to expand its reach and share its mission with new audiences of women who work in the telecom and cloud indirect sales channel.

"Telarus was excited and honored to welcome the Women in the Channel organization to our national event in Deer Valley, Utah. We felt it was important to give our female partners, employees, and supplier personnel the chance to get together, network, and learn from each other," said Patrick Oborn, Vice President of Marketing at Telarus, Inc. "Over time the makeup of Telarus as a company, as well as the sales agencies we partner with, have shifted dramatically away from the male-dominated days of the last decade. Now it is more important than ever to be able to relate to women's issues, provide opportunities for growth, and attract qualified partners whose companies are led by women."

"The more women can come together to share ideas, and strategies in an environment of mutual support, the greater our overall impact will be in the Channel. We are extremely grateful to Telarus for creating this opportunity. The only way we truly advance is by working together and we need the support of our male leaders to do that," said Nancy Ridge, Vice President at Telecom Brokers and President of Women in the Channel.

About Women in the Channel (WiC)

Established in 2010, Women in the Channel’s mission is collaboration through Identity and Relationships to grow business. WiC is a grassroots organization made up of women who are in leadership, ownership and revenue generating roles in the alternate sales channel sector of the telecommunications industry. Month after month, these women are responsible for generating sales for their companies and creating wealth for their families. WiC members are wives and mothers and sisters, and a high percentage of us are the main breadwinners in our families. WiC brings together this group because in an industry that is growing, expanding and changing the number of women at such levels is not matching that growth.
