Popular Seattle Wedding Planner, Katie Aweida, Shares Her Secrets to The Perfect Wedding Booze in Latest Blog Post
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) March 24, 2014 -- Katie Aweida, a Seattle based event and wedding planner, knows all the secrets to planning the perfect wedding. In a recent post, she pours out all her know-how on the best steps to having the best wedding bar for the benefit of the lovely brides-to-be.
Katie’s article and infographic gives seven detailed tips on how to do the math to plan for the right amount of wedding reception booze. She says that step one is to do a ‘booze headcount’. All guests over age 21 will need to be tallied.
“A key component of most wedding receptions is the booze,” she says, “And you should be aware that serving alcohol can eat up between 10-20% of your wedding budget, depending on the size and glamour of your wedding.” To help cut the costs, one trick is to buy alcohol separate from the venue to serve, if allowed.
Step two is to calculate the number of drinks each guest will have beginning to end. She says that her expertise has shown that each drinking guest will average one drink per hour. The article advises if the reception has 100 drinking guests, the planner may safely assume they will need to provide 400 drinks during a four-hour long reception.
Step three is the part that brides will love—choosing the bar type. Katie firmly advises brides and grooms to think about how much they actually have to spend on a bar service. Once a budget has been settled upon, planning the fun may begin! The article advises that a full bar should be 20% liquor, 15% beer, and 80% wine. If, however, money is tight, the article suggests to limit the bar service drinks to a special pair of signature cocktails or drinks that best reflect the personalities of the happy couple!
She also advises to rule out non-hosted bars. “It’s just plain no fun (and not the best of manners) to ask your guests to pay for drinks at your wedding.” If budget is a problem, the article is full of tips and tricks interjected here and there on how to save money on the drinks, making serving alcohol affordable for even the tightest wallet.
