US Congress Honors Counter Terrorism Expert and World Patent Marketing Advisory Board Member, General Nitzan Nuriel, During Week of September 11

Brigadier General (Res.) Nitzan Nuriel receives Honorary Citation from the Congress of the United States for his commitment to peace and world security.

Recognized for his outstanding contributions to world security and counter-terrorism.

World Patent Marketing, a vertically integrated manufacturer and distributor of patented products, announced that Advisory Board Member, Brig. Gen (Res.) Nitzan Nuriel, received an Honorary Citation from the United States Congress on Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, for outstanding contributions to world security and counter-terrorism.

The award was presented by Congressman Peter T. King, former Chairman and ranking member of the Committee on Homeland Security, on the first day of the prestigious World Summit on Counter-Terrorism, held by the International Institute of Counter-Terrorism (ICT). This was the ICT's 15th International conference and it was attended by over 1,000 of the world's top decision makers in defense, intelligence, and security. 60 countries were in attendance. The Conference was held at the Sharon Hotel and the IDC in Herzilya.

Congressman King announced that Nuriel was honored with this prestigious award because of his work in supporting the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism from its inception in 1996, five years before September 11, 2001. Nuriel was one of the earliest advocates and supporters of the important project, which sought to bring together leaders of the intelligence, diplomatic and defense communities for communication and information. Throughout Nuriel’s career he has been known for his leadership and advocacy of the necessity to take a firm stand on terrorism to increase global security and safety.

Nuriel is currently a Research Fellow at the International Institute of Counter-Terrorism. From 2007 to 2012 he was the Director of the Counter-Terrorism Board under the Israeli Prime Minister's Office.

As a young man he served in the Israeli Defense Force, and rose through the ranks of command to eventually obtain the title of Brigadier General. Among his positions, he was posted as Military Attaché to the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC, where he served as the official liaison between the US Military, Marine Corps, Special Operations Command, FEMA and Homeland Security. He received the Legion of Merit from the President of the United States for his accomplishments in maintaining promoting world security.
