Booz Allen Hamilton Proud Sponsor of Face of America Ride
Holbrook, New York (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- World T.E.A.M. Sports President and CEO Van Brinson announced today that Booz Allen Hamilton, a leading management consulting, technology, and engineering services firm, will be returning for a fourth year as a sponsor of the national non-profit’s April 25-27 Face of America ride, an event honoring America’s disabled veterans and the American spirit.
“World T.E.A.M. Sports is proud to partner with Booz Allen Hamilton,” said the organization’s CEO and President, Van Brinson. “Working with such a dedicated group of professionals, who share our passion and vision, is always a joy. We welcome them back as a sponsor this year and look forward to many more.”
The Face of America ride is among the largest commemorative bicycle rides in the Washington D.C. region. The more than 500 participants include many disabled veterans, active military and retired military, emergency responders and hundreds of able-bodied citizens. Together, the participants will travel 110 miles in two days, from the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia to the historic battlefields of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
“I look forward to participating in my second Face of America Ride this April,” said Booz Allen Senior Vice President Andrea Inserra. “The event is an opportunity to honor our veterans, raise funds to support their rehabilitation and experience first-hand their incredible spirit and resiliency. It’s more than just a ride – it’s an opportunity to gain a personal understanding of the positive impacts of adaptive sports on service members and their families and as well as a time to build camaraderie and friendships.”
World T.E.A.M. Sports’ Face of America Ride was first held by the 21-year-old non-profit during the summer of 2000, as a cross-country relay with bike teams from both coasts meeting under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. Following the September 11 attacks on America in 2001, in September 2002 and again in 2003, World T.E.A.M. Sports redirected the ride as a commemorative three-day journey from Ground Zero in New York City, NY to the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Today’s Face of America ride builds upon these collective experiences.
Regularly attracting riders from across the country, the 2014 Face of America will see participants from at least 39 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Denmark and the United Kingdom. Proceeds from the ride support the participation of veterans with disabilities, as well as participation in other World T.E.A.M. Sports events, such as the annual Adventure Team Challenge in Colorado and the new CanAm Veterans Challenge, a two-week bicycle ride for injured veterans, from Ottawa, Ontario to Washington, D.C.
Booz Allen Hamilton is a proud supporter of adaptive sports programs for veterans and is participating in several events throughout 2014 to include the National Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in March, the Face of America Ride in April, the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in August, the National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic in September, and Salute Military Golf Association tournaments held throughout the summer and fall.
The Face of America Ride is supported through sponsorships from Capital One Bank, Booz Allen Hamilton, Benson Botsford LLC, BODYARMOR, FootStomp.com, Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company, General Electric, Penske Truck Rental, Revolution Cycles, Subway of the Bethesda Naval Hospital, Three Wire Systems LLC, and Vedder Price. The Booz Allen Hamilton team is regularly among the leading fundraisers.
