The Inquirer also notes the growing product liability litigation involving Xarelto. Our Firm is currently representing Xarelto lawsuit plaintiffs who allegedly experienced serious internal bleeding complications similar to those detailed in this report.

The Xarelto lawyers (http://www.xareltolawsuit2015.com/xarelto-lawyer/) at Bernstein Liebhard LLP note that the Philadelphia Inquirer recently published a report detailing the risks associated with new-generation blood-thinners like Xarelto. Among other things, the article cites a Xarelto patient who had to stop taking the medication after she experienced serious bleeding complications. The report also notes that it and other new-generation anticoagulants were marketed as superior alternatives to warfarin, a blood thinner that has been in use since the 1950s. However, Xarelto and other recent drugs have raised concerns because, unlike warfarin, there are currently no approved reversal agents to stop the internal bleeding that is sometimes associated with their use.*

“The Inquirer also notes the growing product liability litigation involving Xarelto. Our Firm is currently representing Xarelto lawsuit plaintiffs who allegedly experienced serious internal bleeding complications similar to those detailed in this report,” said Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is currently offering free, no-obligation Xarelto case reviews to people who allegedly suffered serious injuries from the blood thinner, including uncontrollable bleeding, strokes, deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism.

Xarelto Lawsuit Allegations
Xarelto (rivaroxaban) was approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration in 2011, and is currently indicated to prevent strokes in people with atrial fibrillation; as a treatment for deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism; and to prevent deep vein thrombosis in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery.**

Court documents indicate that dozens of federally-filed Xarelto lawsuits have been consolidated in a multidistrict litigation now underway in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, all of which were brought on behalf of individuals who allegedly experienced uncontrollable internal bleeding and other dangerous side effects due to their use of Xarelto. Among other things, these lawsuits allege the drugs’ manufacturers wrongly marketed Xarelto as a superior alternative to warfarin, noting that bleeding caused by the older drug can be stopped via the administration of vitamin K. The lawsuits also claim that the drug makers should have recommended blood monitoring for Xarelto patients, so that physicians could adjust dosage to avoid high concentrations that have the potential to lead to life-threatening internal hemorrhaging. Xarelto patients who were allegedly harmed by the blood thinner may be entitled to recover compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
