New Book Records Tale of Boy & His New Pet in Need of Toilet Training
Fredericton, New Brunswick (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- This nifty little book is an account of a boy introducing his new dog into their household. All dog owners will attest to their canine pets’ needing toilet training. If not, they will pee everywhere, creating their own little puddles that are often the result of fright and inexperience. Zachary Jean joins the legions of pet owners out there with his own story about a dog he found at the SPCA. It was a baby weiner dog which he immediately took to. Jean’s readers will learn how he becomes Puddles: The Incontinent Dog.
At first, the boy in the story has no idea what to expect. When the dog first peed on the backseat of their car on the way home from the animal shelter, it was to become the start of a series of puddles that will become the basis for the dog’s name. The dog next pees on the boy’s dad’s Montreal Canadiens hockey jersey. That starts a round of peeing that victimizes the boy’s father and his things. It is a baffling question, but the boy’s mother reminds the father that he should not leave his things lying around.
The book ends at night. It is perhaps the final time before the now-named Puddles is formally turned over to toilet training. He has managed to pee on the father’s pillow. Readers will easily figure out that by tomorrow, Puddles will be dealt with sternly. Zachary Jean prepares the ground for his pet’s acceptance into the family. Before that though, he has recorded a memorable experience about pets in the process of adjusting to new homes.
Zachary Jean’s Puddles: The Incontinent Dog will be featured at the 2013 American Association of School Librarians Book Exhibit in Hartford, Conn. on November 13 – 17, 2013.
