Fashion Designer Zang Toi to Feature Designs at Lolly’s Locks’ New York City Debut Fundraising Event on November 5
Bethesda, Maryland (PRWEB) October 09, 2014 -- Lolly's Locks, a non-profit that provides high-quality wigs to economically disadvantaged female cancer patients, is pleased to announce that the “wig-centric” fashion show at its New York City Debut Event on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Marquee New York will feature the designs of world-famous fashion designer, Zang Toi.
Toi, best known for creating tailored separates and dresses for a client list that includes celebrities and socialites around the world for more than two decades, was born and raised in a small village in Malaysia. He moved to New York at the age of twenty where he studied at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. In August 1989, Toi opened his atelier, and by March, 1990, U.S. Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour gave him his first big break by featuring him in the magazine. He was one of the first Asian designers to be championed by Wintour.
Zang’s work has been featured in major publications such as Vanity Fair, Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, Financial Times, etc. He has dressed celebrities including Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Taylor, Farrah Fawcett, Melinda Gates, Kristie Alley, Patti LaBelle, Eva Longoria, Fergie, and Heather Graham.
Along with his passion for glamorous fashion, Zang has been an avid philanthropist, with a special interest in raising funds and awareness for cancer-related causes.
All proceeds raised from Lolly's Locks' New York Debut event will benefit Lolly's Locks’ wig recipients.
Lolly’s Locks is a 501(c)(3) charity named in memory of native New Yorker, Lolly Toll, a wife and mother of four who lost her battle against cancer in early 2012. During her illness, Lolly’s desire was to help more women get access to high-quality wigs, which are extremely expensive and often barely or not at all covered by insurance.
