ZCorum Demonstrating Remote Spectrum Analysis and PNM Tools at Cable Congress Show
Amsterdam, Netherlands (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- ZCorum, a provider of managed broadband services and diagnostics, is demonstrating its latest diagnostics applications at Cable Congress this week in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Cable Congress is the annual flagship event of the European cable industry and ZCorum will showcase for industry executives the newly developed tools that leverage DOCSIS to gather diagnostics data using the cable modem in the customer’s home.
One of the products ZCorum is highlighting is RF Inspector, an app the company is selling for $9.95 per year, and which can replace the meter that would normally be used to analyze downstream spectrum. Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Arthur Skinner said, “We are really excited to introduce this tool to the European cable industry. With RF Inspector it’s no longer necessary for technicians to be present at a physical customer location. Instead they’re able to remotely view the same spectrum information on their phone, tablet or PC from wherever they have Internet access.” Skinner went on to add that RF Inspector works in conjunction with the latest chipsets being used in cable modems, including the Intel® Puma™ 5 DOCSIS 3.0 processor combined with the MaxLinear MxL261 eight-channel DOCSIS 3.0 front-end receiver. RF Inspector also roadmaps seamlessly into next-generation 16 and 24 channel modems utilizing Intel® Puma™ 6 and MaxLinear Full-Spectrum Capture™ receivers.
In addition to RF Inspector, ZCorum will be demonstrating two other tools that make use of advanced capabilities in DOCSIS. PreEqualization Analyzer is a Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) tool that allows operators to find and fix upstream impairments before they impact subscribers. Upstream Analyzer is a software-based application for remote upstream spectrum analysis that replaces the head-end equipment operators would normally use to monitor and troubleshoot upstream issues in the HFC plant.
“Cable Europe is an organization that promotes a strong competitive environment in the interest of advancing the cable industry.” said Julie Compann, Chief Executive Officer at ZCorum. “At ZCorum, we are dedicated to creating innovative products that enhance the broadband industry and we are so pleased to have the opportunity to show cable operators at Cable Congress how our next-generation of diagnostics tools can significantly improve efficiency and lower operational costs in their company.”
