ZCorum to Demonstrate New Diagnostics Solutions in Amsterdam During IBC 2014
Alpharetta, Georgia (PRWEB) September 10, 2014 -- ZCorum announced today that they will be demonstrating their latest diagnostics solutions for cable operators who are attending IBC 2014 in Amsterdam. MaxLinear, who is hosting a private meeting room there, invited ZCorum to showcase their products during the conference. The two companies are sharing the Livingstone Meeting Room at the Holiday Inn Amsterdam, which is nearby the RAI Conference Center where the show is being held. ZCorum will be demonstrating RF Inspector, an app that displays downstream spectrum on a mobile device, as well as PreEqualization Analyzer, a Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) tool. IBC2014, which starts on Friday and runs through Tuesday next week, is expected to draw over 50,000 attendees from 170 countries.
RF Inspector leverages the DOCSIS-IF3-MIB in newer cable modems and set-top boxes that allows for the capture of spectrum for all data and video channels directly from the CPE. “With RF Inspector, technicians no longer need to roll a truck to see what’s going on in the downstream plant,” said Scott Helms, Vice President of Technology at ZCorum. “This also means no bulky and expensive test equipment. The tech can simply use their tablet or smartphone to see the full spectrum just as it would appear on a meter, wherever they have Internet access.”
PreEqualization Analyzer is a PNM tool ZCorum introduced earlier this year. The application utilizes the pre-equalization data from cable modems on the network to identify the location and severity of upstream impairments. Helms said the data and mapping in PreEqualization Analyzer allows operators find and fix the impairments before they are severe enough to cause an impact for subscribers.
