ZCorum to Present Webinar on Proactive Network Maintenance for NCTC Members
Alpharetta, Georgia (PRWEB) October 23, 2014 -- ZCorum a leading provider of managed broadband services and diagnostics, will be conducting a technology webinar for members of the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) on DOCSIS Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) tools and how to use them for proactively finding cable plant impairments. The webinar will feature Marty Carollo, NCTC member and Network Manager at Sweetwater Cable TV in Wyoming. ZCorum’s Vice Presidents Scott Helms and Rick Yuzzi will join Mr. Carollo on the panel.
In the webinar Carollo will be sharing his experience with Proactive Network Maintenance and how it has helped him resolve plant issues. “With Proactive Network Maintenance we’re now able to see problems that normally are not visible with an SNMP-based diagnostics tool,” said Carollo. “Sometimes these impairments are like ghosts. You know they're there, but you can't see them. With PNM we can clearly see which modems are struggling to compensate for upstream impairments in the plant.”
“Having DOCSIS pre-equalization enabled and a proactive network maintenance tool in place truly changes the way cable operators approach network maintenance,” said Helms. “We’re looking forward to Marty sharing the success he’s had with PNM, and sharing with other providers how powerful it is to be able to find and fix upstream impairments before customers are impacted.”
The upcoming webinar, entitled "Ghosts In The Plant - Finding Hidden Impairments with PNM Tools" is open to all NCTC members, and will include a demonstration of ZCorum’s PNM tool, PreEqualization Analyzer. The webinar will take place on Tuesday, October 28 beginning at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time and will be followed by a Q&A session. NCTC members can contact ZCorum at 800-909-9441 or their NCTC representative for more information about the webinar.
