The technology uniquely enables companies to personalize key elements of websites – such as homepage images or welcome banners – without slowing the page-load time or introducing the flicker effect typically caused by swapping out such elements.

Web page flicker problems arise when companies seek to personalize elements of the page – using client-side Javascript – for targeted visitors or users. The visitor’s browser loads the original content from the company’s content management system (CMS) or ecommerce platform. Then, a short time after the original content has loaded and displayed, the personalization solution replaces the original content with the updated content. This short amount of time, however, is often long enough for the human eye to notice, and the site appears to flicker.

The flicker issue prevents companies from personalizing their sites to the fullest because it damages the experience for the end-user.
