Zia Consulting, Inc., the leading provider of Content Management and Smart Capture business solutions, recently announced the launch of their Initial Consulting Engagements (ICE). ICE packages outline Zia’s project process that begins with the Discovery and Process Assessment phase, followed by a Technical Assessment, ultimately resulting in the delivery of an Assessment Document and a Project Management Plan.

Initial Consulting engagements are broken down into three levels: Departmental, Corporate, and Enterprise. The Departmental-level projects utilize one product in Zia’s solution suite and are generally in one location with minimal customization and external integrations. Corporate-level projects generally require additional architectural components, more than two integrations, multiple geographic locations, and significant custom workflow development. Projects that are neither Departmental or Corporate in size are considered Enterprise-level and require a custom quote.

There are three phases to each ICE package: Discovery and Process Assessment, Technical Assessment, and a Project Management Plan. The timing and cost for each phase is clearly defined. The Discovery and Process Assessment consists of the initial review of customer requirements. This process of research and analysis allows Zia to realize from a business perspective how an ECM and/or capture system can help the customer. The outcome may be used in a Technical Assessment, where Zia explores how to implement the right solution for the customer. This stage consists of a technical review of the customer’s requirements, yielding a solution design and proposal. The outcome may be used to develop a Project Management Plan (PMP). The PMP stage is the culmination of the customer’s business and technical assessments, designed to build a project management plan and solution adoption matrix. The outcome is used to begin project implementation.
