The construction of The Plaza at Centennial Hill, a $22.7 million housing development in the historic neighborhood of Centennial Hills, is nearing completion and has begun welcoming new residents. Considered a key catalyst for the rejuvenation of this important neighborhood, the brand new, 129-unit, mixed-income affordable housing community is located on the site of the former Victor Tulane Court Public Housing development. This is MHA’s first public-private venture, leveraging city, state and federal funding. Featuring both apartment flats and townhouses, in two and three bedroom layouts, The Plaza at Centennial Hill also boasts a new community center, where supportive services will be offered to Plaza residents and to the community at large. Funding for the development came from City of Montgomery and housing authority funds, as well as from equity raised through the sale of federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits. The new community is being managed by Interstate Realty Management, which will ensure it remains a community asset well into the future.
