NuvaRing Multidistrict Litigation Moves Forward: Now, AttorneyOne Can Provide Advice
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 04, 2014 -- AttorneyOne.com, a recognized authority on law, updated the website recently and now, can actively provide an expert opinion in view of the recent news on NuvaRing Lawsuit.
A new Court Order was filed on February 7, in the NuvaRing Multidistrict Litigation regarding preservation of records and prima facie evidence of usage, injury and causation requirements for pending cases not participating in the NuvaRing resolution program and newly filed or transferred cases (MDL 1964, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri). NuvaRing is a popular internal birth control device, a vaginal ring placed near the cervix that was approved by the FDA in 2001.
As Bloomberg published on February 8, Merck will pay $100 million to resolve as many as 3,800 lawsuits alleging blood clots from NuvaRing. According to a US Judge, the settlement may resolve thousands of lawsuits in federal and state courts as long as enough women agree to participate in the accord (MDL 1964, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri and BER-L-3081-09, Superior Court of New Jersey).
Taking into consideration the latest developments, AttorneyOne.com updated the website and, now, can actively provide an expert opinion including how to get in contact with legal counsel easily and inexpensively in cases of severe complications, allegedly from NuvaRing. Sean Burke, director of Media Relations at AttorneyOne.com, adds that the relevant information illustrates that people continue to file NuvaRing lawsuits. "For that reason", he continues, "our focus should squarely fall on getting the word out and assisting people in finding the right legal assistance.”
According to a Court Order filed on January 9, a US District Judge put on hold the cases in the NuvaRing Multidistrict Litigation. As the Order states “adversarial litigation in these cases, including all discovery, motions, hearings on motions, and rulings related to any of these cases, shall be held in abeyance until May 31, 2014.”
Court data, updated by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on February 19, indicate that there are 1,616 cases currently pending in the NuvaRing MDL.
