AttorneyOne.com, a recognized authority on law, updated the website recently and now, can actively provide an expert opinion in view of the recent news on Paxil Lawsuit.
On March 11, a new lawsuit was filed by an Ohio woman in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court (case no. 2:2014cv01445) alleging that her child suffered serious birth defects as result of her ingestion of Paxil during pregnancy. Paxil, produced by GlaxoSmithKline and approved in 1992 by the FDA, is an antidepressant drug belonging to a group called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). In the lawsuit, the plaintiff claims that her child was born with infant respiratory distress syndrome and a ventricular septal defect because she took Paxil during pregnancy.
On January 17, a US District Court granted the motion to transfer a Paxil birth defects lawsuit to the District Court for the Southern District of Texas (case no. 2:2012cv02119, Pennsylvania Eastern District Court). According to the lawsuit, the plaintiffs claim that due to the mother's ingestion of Paxil while pregnant the child was born with several birth defects.
Taking into consideration the latest developments, AttorneyOne.com updated the website and, now, can actively provide an expert opinion including how to get in contact with legal counsel easily and inexpensively in cases of severe complications, allegedly from Paxil. Sean Burke, director of Media Relations at AttorneyOne.com, adds that the relevant information illustrates that people continue to file Paxil lawsuits. "For that reason," he continues, "our focus should squarely fall on getting the word out and assisting people in finding the right legal assistance.”
On July 26, 2013, the Office of the Attorney General, State of Louisiana announced that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) will pay $45 million to settle Louisiana lawsuits on Medicaid fraud and deceptive marketing allegations related to Paxil and other medications.
On December 19, 2013, a federal judge certified an order for interlocutory review in a Paxil pregnancy lawsuit (case no. 2:2013cv03693, Pennsylvania Eastern District Court). In the lawsuit, the plaintiff claims that her daughter suffered birth defects because the mother took Paxil during the pregnancy.
