Meadows Farms is proud to help some of our communities most vulnerable members- the children
Chantilly, VA (PRWEB) May 08, 2014
During the month of April, Meadows Farms Nurseries partnered with the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) program to help more than 500 abused, neglected, and abandoned children in Prince William, Fauquier, & Rappahannock counties in Northern Virginia. This is Meadows Farms fourth year partnering with CASA. In April of 2014 Meadows Farms locations raised over $6,500 for this important cause. Since 2011, they have raised over $40,000 for CASA.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and five of the Meadows Farms locations featured a “Children’s Garden of Hope,” allowing customers who made a donation to CASA a chance to display a name tag highlighting their donation. Saturday, April 5th was “CASA Day” at all locations; any customer who made a donation to CASA received 10% off their purchase of plants. The Manassas location hosted a craft fair on April 26, featuring local artisans, all of whom donated a portion of their proceeds to CASA.
CASA is a not-for-profit organization funded by grants and donations. Specially trained volunteers from the community are sworn in by the Court and become advocates. They help ensure that the child remains safe, receives all they need to help them overcome their trauma, and has the hope of a better future in a safe, nurturing, and permanent home as quickly as possible. Meadows Farms Nurseries believes in taking action to make the community a better place to live and giving these young victims of abuse the chance they deserve to “bloom.”
