I am always amazed by the people that come into my kitchen...As much as I love sharing my passion for gourmet food and cooking, I find even greater joy in sharing my passion with all of the wonderful individuals that come to Lajollacooks4u.

San Diego temperatures were not the only numbers to soar upwards this summer. Over the past few months, Lajollacooks4u had a record-breaking number of guests for corporate team building events and group cooking classes.
During the past summer months, Lajollacooks4u welcomed a score of groups celebrating milestone birthdays, anniversaries, family get-togethers, and many other events. Lajollacooks4u also saw multiple returning guests, including a financial services company who returned for their second corporate team building event at Lajollacooks4u.
While all groups gathered in Lajollacooks4u’s private kitchen for the gourmet cooking and dining experience, Chef Jodi also lead a handful of “Foodie Tours” through San Diego’s food scene. Several visiting guests chose one of Lajollacooks4u’s Weekend Culinary Adventure packages that included trips with Chef Jodi to local farmers’ markets and other specialty food shops.
Team building events were also off the charts at Lajollacooks4u this summer. Among the corporate teams that joined Lajollacooks4u for corporate team building events were multiple local biotechnology corporations, a real estate company, and a fun-loving team from a financial cooperative firm. For team building events, team members competed in friendly challenges to perfect each recipe of their customized menu. Lajollacooks4u specially crafted this playful set-up so that teams could exercise good communication and build a sense of team unity, while also establishing camaraderie between colleagues.
For Chef Jodi Abel, founder and Chef at Lajollacooks4u, the summer wasn’t entirely one of all work and no play—Chef Jodi found time to traverse the French island of Corsica and France and further develop her cooking skills through training with a Michelin-starred chef. Chef Jodi returned to Lajollacooks4u with many new Mediterranean-focused and pastry dishes.
Lajollacooks4u also found time to perform some grand renovations to revamp their indoor kitchen with new industrial appliances suited for large groups and a fresh design by adding a small wall mosaic and new cabinetry.
Chef Jodi is in awe over the number of groups and accomplishments Lajollacooks4u achieved over the past few months: “I am always amazed by the people that come into my kitchen. Their stories and personalities are all so unique. As much as I love sharing my passion for gourmet food and cooking in general, I find even greater joy in sharing my passion with all of the wonderful individuals that come to Lajollacooks4u.”
Although summer is slowly setting, Lajollacooks4u is looking forward to the number of exciting events and engagements that have been already scheduled for fall.
