Utrip, the travel planning platform that combines the best of local expertise, human experience and artificial intelligence, unveiled today the top millennial travel spots of 2017, including favorite destinations for foodies. Analyzing over 70 million traveler preference data points and four million traveler profiles collected over the last two years, Utrip found that millennials flocked to Europe this year, with three of the top five destinations across the Atlantic.
According to the data, the top five destinations for millennial travelers are Barcelona, Amsterdam, Miami, London and San Francisco. The data also revealed that millennial foodies prefer Paris, with London, Barcelona, Rome and Amsterdam also ranking high among the age group’s food lovers.
Examining where travelers take the longest trips, Utrip’s data further revealed millennials’ preference for Europe. The top destination when ranked according to trip length is Dublin, where travelers spend an average of about 17.6 days in the European hub. Coming in close second is Vienna at roughly 17 days, followed by Munich, Amsterdam and Prague. Of the top 15 destinations ranked by trip length, only one city - San Diego - is outside of Europe.
