A Forever Recovery Hosts Inspiring Talk by Professional Wrestling Legend Diamond Dallas Page
Battle Creek, MI (PRWEB) July 29, 2014 -- A Forever Recovery, an open-ended drug and alcohol treatment program that gets clients off to a great start and gives them a solid foundation in recovery they can believe in, proudly welcomed professional wrestling legend and current actor, writer and fitness system pioneer Diamond Dallas Page to its treatment center on June 25, 2014, where he delivered an unforgettable inspirational talk to clients progressing at various stages on their journey towards addiction recovery.
Diamond Dallas Page – a.k.a. DDP – told a captivated audience how, even though he’d always dreamed of being a professional wrestler, he initially entered the wrestling world as a manager because he felt that he was too old to take his talents to the ring. However, the dream refused to die, and at the age of 35 -- an unheard of age for a rookie – Page forged ahead and not only established himself, but made it all the way to the top of the heap, and into the hearts of fans worldwide.
“Life is really all about how we deal with adversity; how we put the work in,” said Page. “Everyone said I was nuts, they said I was crazy, they said it couldn’t be done. The bottom line is that at 42, they told me my wrestling career was over. But at 43 years age young, I became heavyweight champion of the world – not once, not twice, but three times. That’s why I never listened to anyone who told me what I can’t do. The only way this ever happened is because I put the work in, day after day after day – and that’s what all of you are doing right now. There’s nobody here, not one person, who can’t be a champion in their family’s eyes!”
“We talk a lot about heroes and role models in our society, and leaders who young people can look to for inspiration and hope,” commented A Forever Recovery’s CEO Per Wickstrom. “Well, Diamond Dallas Page is a real-life hero who has battled the odds and continues to stay positive and to inspire others to exceed their potential. We were thrilled and grateful that he took the time from his very busy schedule to speak to our clients, and to remind them that if they put in the work every day, surround themselves with the support they need, and keep focusing on a worthwhile goal, that anything is possible – including living a happy and successful life free of drug and alcohol addiction.”
