AAHOA Partners with the Job Creators Network Foundation
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 08, 2014 -- The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) today announced its partnership with the Job Creators Network Foundation, which educates workers on how certain government legislation negatively impacts their jobs and the local economy.
“AAHOA is actively engaged in government affairs and industry issues, as we fight harmful regulations and make our voices heard on changes that negatively affect our members and the economy,” AAHOA Chairman Pratik Patel said. “We are happy to partner with the Jobs Creators Network Foundation, which works tirelessly to monitor government mandates and educate employees. This partnership will further help inform our members and our industry about potentially harmful government actions.”
The Job Creators Network uses a variety of tools to inform the public, as a defense against bad government policies. Its employee education program shows workers how such legislation may seem effective to lawmakers, but could ultimately lead to job cuts and hiring freezes.
"We are thrilled to join forces with the Asian American Hotel Owners Association, as this industry often experiences the negative impacts of bad public policies before many other sectors,” said Alfredo Ortiz, president of the Job Creators Network Foundation. “If not kept in check, government regulations such as health care and minimum wage mandates can quickly devastate businesses and destroy the jobs of many hard-working Americans."
The partnership will help AAHOA members educate their employees about government policies that impact their jobs, their paychecks and their families. AAHOA members will have full access to educational tools – from videos to infographics – on Job Creator Network’s website, InformationStation.org, Ortiz said.
“Surveys show that workers trust their employers to let them know how government policies impact them,” he said. “We look forward to working with AAHOA to help their members start and continue that conversation through our Employer to Employee communication program.”
Founded in 1989, AAHOA is the largest hotel owners association in the world, with more than 12,500 small business owner-members. AAHOA members own more than 20,000 properties amounting to more than 40 percent of all hotels in the United States and employ nearly 600,000 workers, accounting for over $9.4 billion in payroll annually.
