Ability Commerce Brings Carlton Industries Live on Microsoft Dynamics GP Along with Full Integration to Carlton’s JDA Direct Commerce ERP
Delray Beach, FL (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- Ability Commerce, the leading provider of order management, ecommerce and financial platforms, has successfully implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP(formerly Great Plains) at Carlton Industries. Ability Commerce has also successfully implemented its proprietary Ability Dynamic Integration (ADI) module to Carlton’s JDA Direct Commerce back-end ERP (formerly Red Prairie, Escalate Retail, Ecometry). This module provides seamless integration between the ERP and GP.
Carlton Industries originally implemented Dynamics GP with a competitor in 2006; however, the experience was less than satisfactory as their employees had not been properly trained, and the solution was never properly optimized for their environment. As a result, the company made the decision to discard the entire install and rebuild it in 2013 with Ability Commerce as their partner.
Carlton Industries, a JDA Direct Commerce client running Ecometry, knew of the Ability product lines, and the deep integration Ability’s platforms have to Ecometry’s ERP. Shawn Ellen, Director of Sales and Marketing at Ability Commerce said, “Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of the Ecometry brand, we find ourselves in an unusual, yet very opportune position." Ellen added, “Several Ecometry customers have already committed to migrating to our order management system (Ability OMS), while others, who are still considering their migration options, either use our SmartSite ecommerce platform and/or GP with our ADI solution, both which seamlessly integrate to the Ecometry platform. Regardless of the need, Ability is able to help provide solutions to the JDA Direct Commerce base."
KatySweet Confectioners, a brand under the Carlton Industries umbrella, has also migrated to GP from QuickBooks as part of the overall project. This implementation will allow KatySweet to benefit from the flexible kitting, lot and serial number tracking, and robust security features available in Dynamics GP, which currently does not exist in their existing QuickBooks solution.
