Adventure Tourism is the Topic of a New "Behind The Scenes" Piece for Public Television with James Earl Jones
(PRWEB) April 03, 2016 -- "Behind the Scenes," hosted by award winning actor James Earl Jones (Star Wars, Dr. Strangelove) will feature a new piece about adventure tourism.
Adventure tourism is a special type of tourism where tourists visit remote areas to engage in physically demanding and sometimes risky activities as a break from the norms of everyday life. Adventure tourists are often seeking a "rush" that comes from activities such as backpacking, rock climbing, canoeing, or hang-gliding. Adventure tourism promotes physical activity and wellness and also raises awareness of environmental issues. But adventure tourism can also be risky for tourists who are inexperienced or underequipped, and some activities such as hunting can be bad for the environment.
This new piece looks to provide viewers with information on these types of trips, those who organize them, and the details involved with planning them. "Behind the Scenes" is an award-winning television production that is distributed to Public Television Stations throughout the nation. The show is not affiliated with PBS or APT.
