Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 16, 2013 -- The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), in partnership with the Hub LA and the Taproot Foundation are excited to announce Design for Good LA 2013: 24-Hour Design Blitz. The event will take place at the Hub LA beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 and ending at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013.
The event will feature five Los Angeles based non-profits that will each be assigned a team of five designers that will spend 24 hours collaborating to develop a sustainable design solution aimed at meeting the goals of their assigned client with the ultimate objective of inspiring social change.
Over 30 spots were made available for designers to participate in this design blitz that welcomed working professional creatives–graphic designers, illustrators, interactive experts, copywriters, photographers and other fields related to the creative industry.
Design for Good L.A. will kick-off with a short message from Matthew Manos, Founder and CEO of verynice design studio and will close with a final presentation of the teams’ design solutions in front of the participating non-profits. The design services provided to the selected organizations will be free of charge and participating non-profits will be announced the week of October 14, 2013.
The event will culminate with a Wrap Party taking place the weekend of November 8th which will be open to the public and will celebrate the completion of the blitz where the design teams will present their projects. The exact location and time of event is still being determined.
