Apple Visual Graphics Partners With Greenpeace for Inside Out Project to Support Immigration Reform
Long Island City, N.Y. (PRWEB) July 28, 2014 -- This June, Apple Visual Graphics, located in Long Island City, N.Y., worked with Greenpeace for its Inside Out Project U.S. Capitol Installation, which displays portraits of immigrants living in the United States and their supporters on the front lawn of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. Apple Visual Graphics provided the prints of the banners, which displayed four large portraits of immigrants in the U.S.
In addition to portraits of the immigrants themselves, Inside Out 11M also created an outdoor mural with photographs of more than 9,000 other individuals, who joined in to show their support for immigration reform. Participants included a "diverse tapestry" of the U.S., according to Greenpeace's website, with photos of business owners, students, artists, parents, scientists, mayors, undocumented workers, teachers, tech workers and others who all want to work toward improving immigration laws in America. The portraits were also exhibited on buses in the city.
Apple Visual Graphics provided these oversized black and white banners, which were on display to the public June 16, 17, 18 and 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The collaboration was led by Adam Sturm, Apple Visual Graphics' President, and representatives from the Greenpeace Inside Out Project.
"The portraits remind us of the rich contribution immigrants from all walks of life have made –- and continue to make –- to our country," said Sturm. In addition to working with Greenpeace, Apple Visual Graphics also works with other non-profits, such as the United Nations, Children's Aid Society and Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to create displays and illustrate the company's large format printing capabilities.
Sturm said his company and those who support it were proud to be part of a major installation in Washington, D.C., especially concerning the topic of immigration, which appears in the news daily and is at the forefront of many people's minds. When asked to comment, Sturm elaborated: "The message behind Greenpeace/Inside Out is an important one. We here at Apple Visual Graphics are proud to provide the materials that help convey this message in a language that everyone can understand: pictures."
