Author Geoff Quaife Crafts New Gripping, 17th-century Murder Mystery
Armidale, Australia (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- Described by the author as “an attempt to escape the present and embed oneself in the 17th century,” Geoff Quaife’s new fiction “The Spanish Relation: Murder in Cromwellian England” (published by Trafford Publishing) takes readers on an adventure to the time of power-hungry English military leader Oliver Cromwell.
In the book, Cromwell sends his top agent Luke Tremayne to investigate the mysterious murder of a Somerset squire, but Tremayne’s search is complicated by Somerset’s environment of conflict.
Tremayne finds Somerset split into two warring entities bursting with renegade militia, corrupt politicians, religious fanatics, wanton witches and sexual deviants.
While hunting for his target – the murderer – Tremayne experiences moments of adversity, confrontation and enlightenment.
Eventually, he obtains the proof he needs to confront the killer, who is not easily brought to justice.
