Black House & Co is Proud to Support the 1st Annual Immigrant Heritage Month
Boston MA, (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- Today Black House & Co, LLC, a leading Coworking Space in Downtown Boston, announced its support of the first ever Immigrant Heritage Month, an initiative organized by the non-profit Welcome.us to partner with corporations, media outlets, organizations, celebrities, athletes, and leaders of the faith, civic, and political communities to gather and share inspirational stories of American immigrants.
Black House & Co, a Boston-based Mexican-woman led company, has become a recognized community for foreign entrepreneurs. The Co-Founder, Maria Amparo Gonzalez commented: “We are thrilled to partner with FWD.us and to participate in Welcome.us. The Black House community is comprised mainly of foreign entrepreneurs and international companies developing an exchange of Technology, Business and Human Capital between Massachusetts and their native countries. From European companies to local startups, our members share more than 20 different nationalities and cultures.”
To support the ‘IHM’, Black House initiated a program called “Emerging Markets Hub” which focuses on highlighting immigrant contributions to the economy in the life-science, technology, and innovation fields. Different Emerging Markets countries are invited to co-host a presentation of outstanding companies and business proposals in their economy. On June 4th 2014, the program was inaugurated with tremendous success, Colombia being the first of many Countries to participate in the project, with the collaboration of Bakatá. An audience of 50+ entrepreneurs, VCs, angels investors, VIP sponsors and Boston startup ecosystem leaders are enrolled in this project, now featuring Eastern Europe with the collaboration of Linque Solutions, a startup that links Polish companies to the United States market.
Well said by Tolu Olubunmi, “The entrepreneurial drive and spirit of our country is built on our diversity of origins. It is what drew the first people to the U.S. and what continues to drive American business. American success is a result of our many distinct experiences, not in spite of it.” It is tangible in the entrepreneur community; the initiative of immigrant-formed companies will be the strongest bridges that connect US commercial technologies to large customers in emerging markets.
Welcome.us, a new non-profit organization, is dedicated to celebrating a United States that is fueled by immigrants from around the world. Led by Tolu Olubunmi, the organization is focused on establishing Immigrant Heritage Month to honor the ways in which America and the immigrants who have built our country are linked in a shared, productive history. Welcome.us is supported by FWD.us, which was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, Marissa Mayer, Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, Padmasree Warrior, and other tech leaders.
