Brandith Irwin, MD, of SkinTour.com Answers New Blog Question About Improving Neck Skin Non-Surgically
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) August 11, 2013 -- Every week, Brandith Irwin, MD, answers questions from readers of her blog, SkinTour.com. A recent blog provides information on how to get rid of a sagging neck without surgery.
"I have many patients who are interested in improving the condition of their necks but are completely happy with how their faces look," explains Dr. Irwin. In this case, patients do not want to undergo surgery and are looking for a good non-surgical alternative to improve the appearance of their neck. Results are not as dramatic as a face/neck surgical lift but are better than other prior nonsurgical treatments.
At this time, non-surgical technology for the neck is improving, but it really is not as good as we would like it to be. Some nonsurgical options include:
· Exilis is a newer nonsurgical technology that uses radio frequency to tighten loose skin.
· Fractionated CO2 lasers (like DEKA DOT) can provide patients with excellent improvement in 2-4 treatments, but treatments must be done by a laser expert.
· IPL works well on the neck for color problems like redness or brown spots. Although, it does little to nothing for wrinkles and tightening.
However, Dr. Irwin reminds readers, “Don’t overlook the obvious though, which is a good moisturizer and a sunscreen. It makes a difference over time.”
Unlike most prominent dermatologists, Dr. Irwin has no financial ties to any skin care manufacturer or laser company. She does not sit on any boards, act as a spokesperson, accept any fees, or endorse any line of cosmetics. She is a board-certified dermatologist who practices in Seattle, WA, at the practice she founded, Madison Skin & Laser Center. Additionally, she has published multiple anti-aging books, the most recent titled, “The Surgery-Free Makeover: All You Need To Know For Great Skin And A Younger Face.”
