Connecting Kids to Nature with the New Nature-Inspired Canyon Collection™
Delano, Minn. (PRWEB) March 12, 2015 -- Landscape Structures Inc., a Delano, Minn.-based commercial playground equipment manufacturer, has introduced The Canyon Collection™, realistic rock panels that attach directly to the PlayBooster® play structure. The nature-inspired collection meets the needs of community leaders and park planners who are looking for ways to reconnect kids to the natural world around them.
With the Canyon Collection, climbing rocks are no longer isolated events set apart from the rest of the playground. The rock-climbing experience is now integrated into the play structure delivering continuous play that’s both physical and imaginative. Four configurable rocks, along with the collection’s nets and a deck, create challenging and exciting play experiences for 5- to 12-year-olds.
All of the elements in the Canyon Collection were created to work well together, but in a variety of ways. Playground designers will satisfy a range of budgets and footprints by choosing from four preconfigured formations or the following individual rock panels can be placed to create a one-of-a-kind nature-inspired playground adventure:
• The Ascent™ Rock Though the smallest of the collection, the Ascent Rock provides a challenging vertical climb with plenty of built-in hand- and foot-holds.
• The Bend™ Rock Curving at a 90-degree angle, the Bend Rock presents two sides of climbing on the outside and an opening to allow access to the inside plus clear sightlines for caregivers.
• The Chimney™ Rock The tallest piece in the collection, the Chimney Rock offers climbing opportunities on the outside and inside faces so kids can climb out of the cave and over the top or onto the deck.
• The Den™ Rock Wrapping around the Canyon or Hexagon Decks at 120-degrees, the Den Rock delivers multiple climbing challenges and two openings to an inside hideaway. The lower height of the rock accommodates bridges coming off the structure.
The Canyon Collection rocks were sculpted based on molds from the Gneiss (pronounced “nice”) Outcrops in Southwestern Minnesota. The result is realistic texture and rock shapes for truly natural looking playground equipment. Adding to the realism are critters like frogs and mice sculpted into the outside of the panels and features like bats, insects and stalactites on the inside.
