CostaBaja Resort & Marina Open Following Hurricane Odile
La Paz, Mexico (PRWEB) October 03, 2014 -- CostaBaja Resort & Marina in La Paz, MX is open and welcoming guests and locals displaced by Hurricane Odile, one of the worst storms to hit Baja California in the last 20 years. Located just under 100 miles north of Los Cabos, the town of La Paz received minimal damage from Odile and has become the command center for local government during the recovery process.
Fully operational with no structural damage to the property, CostaBaja has opened their doors to those in need of accommodations following the storm, as well as travelers who were planning to visit Cabo in the coming weeks and months. CostaBaja Marina is also accepting vessels from Cabo.
The resort is currently providing potable water to communities that are still without electricity (required to obtain water from the local reservoirs) and has established an account for people who want to donate in support of relief efforts.
“The best way we can help is to be fully up and running,” said Arturo Peña, CEO of CostaBaja. “We were lucky enough to suffer no damage from Odile, and our immediate focus is to help the local community and extend our hospitality to guests in need.”
CostaBaja is a residential, master-planned resort community of homes and homesites set on the Sea of Cortez, five minutes from downtown La Paz. The CostaBaja Resort & Spa, a 115-room, luxury boutique hotel managed by Grand Heritage Hotels, sits adjacent to the 250-slip double-basin CostaBaja Marina and features a holistic spa, two pools, two signature restaurants and an 18-hole Gary Player Signature golf course.
Says Peña: “Our hope is for the whole community of Baja California Sur to recover as soon as possible and welcome guests back to this beautiful piece of Mexico. We see a better day ahead in the near future.”
