Cougars Earn Post-Season Academic Honors
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (PRWEB) May 26, 2018 -- Three out of the five Kalamazoo Valley Community College athletic teams and 19 players received National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic Honors for the 2017-18 school year.
The volleyball, softball and baseball teams all had an overall team GPA of 3.0 or higher, with the volleyball team earning a 3.23 GPA, the softball team averaging a 3.44 GPA and the baseball team’s overall GPA was 3.01.
Nineteen student-athletes earned NJCAA All-Academic awards for having 3.60 or higher GPAs.
Four athletes were named to the First Team for earning a perfect 4.0 GPA, seven made Second Team with GPAs between 3.80-3.99 and eight made Third Team for GPAs of 3.60-3.79.
Additionally, 38 student-athletes received Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) All-Academic Awards for 2017-18 for earning 3.0 or higher GPAs.
“It was another notable year for Kalamazoo Valley student-athlete academic performance,” said Athletic Director Russ Panico. “I am confident that next year our student athletes will continue to excel on the field and in the classroom.”
