CPA Exam Candidate from Indiana is One of Only 55 Out of Nearly 95,000 Candidates to Win AICPA Award
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) March 25, 2014 -- The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) announced the winners of the 2013 Elijah Watt Sells Award.
Ekaterina Pronina of Carmel is one of only 55 CPA examination candidates to receive this award out of the nearly 95,000 candidates who sat for the exam in 2013. Pronina is a graduate of the IUPUI Kelley School of Business and is employed with Dauby O'Connor & Zaleski in Carmel.
"We salute Ekaterina on this impressive accomplishment," said Gary Bolinger, CAE, president & CEO of the Indiana CPA Society. "The CPA Exam is a rigorous exam. It has long been regarded as one of the most difficult professional exams in the nation. To achieve what Ekaterina did is no small feat."
This award is bestowed upon candidates who have obtained a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the exam, completed testing during the 2013 calendar year, and passed all four sections of the exam on their first attempt.
"The CPA Examination is designed to protect the public interest and help ensure that only qualified individuals earn a CPA license," said Michael Decker, AICPA Director of Examinations. "On behalf of the AICPA, I would like to congratulate the winners of the 2013 Elijah Watt Sells Award for their impressive achievement."
The Elijah Watt Sells Award program was established by the AICPA in 1923 to recognize outstanding performance on the CPA Exam. Sells was one of the country's first CPAs. He was active in the establishment of the AICPA and played a key role helping to advance professional education in the profession.
