Crown Automotive of Chattanooga Still Accepting Volunteers for Feeding Children Everywhere Hunger Project
Chattanooga, TN (PRWEB) December 09, 2013 -- Crown Automotive of Chattanooga, part of the Crown Automotive Group, is still accepting volunteers and donations for the Feeding Children Everywhere Hunger Project to help Chattanooga area children in need. The event will be held at the Crown Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram showroom in Chattanooga on Saturday, December 14, when hundreds of volunteers will package nutritious meals for hungry children. Today, one in four children in the Chattanooga area is at risk of going hungry. All volunteers are welcome and community members can register to participate or donate at: Crown Feeding Children Everywhere.
T.C. Staton, general manager of Crown Automotive of Chattanooga, stated, "The outpouring of support from the community has been tremendous, but we still need more volunteers to reach our goal of packaging 50,000 meals for hungry children in our area. The event will be fun and uplifting for everyone involved and the cause couldn't be more important: feeding hungry children. No child should go hungry and we're doing what we can to help eliminate childhood hunger in the Chattanooga area. We welcome all community members to donate and join us on Saturday."
The Hunger Project will include two 90 minute packaging sessions beginning at 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. 140 volunteers are needed at each session to meet the goal of filling 50,000 food packages. Crown staff members will volunteer, working side-by-side with Crown customers and other giving members of the community. Feeding Children Everywhere workers will also be on hand to form the food packaging assembly lines and create excitement with music and entertainment.
The packaged meals are a healthy and delicious blend of easily digestible sources of protein, necessary carbohydrates, vitamins A, B6, C, D and E, folic acid, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, trace minerals and amino acids. The meals are scientifically formulated to help combat the effects of hunger on the human body. The addition of boiling water to the packages is all that is needed to cook the meals.
Don Campbell, CEO of Feeding Children Everywhere, commented, “Crown Automotive Group cares about the community, and is demonstrating this by supporting at least 50,000 meals for children in need in the Chattanooga area during the holiday season, when everyone should have a nutritious meal. We are grateful for their generous support and excited about the event on December 14.”
Crown will also donate funds from each car sold between now and the event, in addition to customers' sales and service donations, and employee contributions. The packaged meals will be distributed to needy children in Chattanooga just before Christmas. Community members can volunteer or donate to help feed hungry children at: Crown Feeding Children Everywhere.
