Cyber Security Summit 2016 Provides Advice for Small Businesses
Minneapolis (PRWEB) October 02, 2016 -- Given that Fortune 500 companies regularly make headlines after large-scale data breaches, too many small and mid-size businesses think that protecting their own information security is a lost cause. Nevertheless, no business today can afford to ignore cyber security - both because of the potential for data and information theft as well as the legal and insurance issues that can result.
With that in mind, the 6th Annual Cyber Security Summit is offering a standalone half-day event on Tuesday, October 11, from 2 - 5:10 p.m. (followed by a networking reception) that puts the focus on small and mid-size businesses.
The event will cover high-risk behaviors, actions to take right now, legal considerations, insurance options and more.
Many normal business transactions can open the door to cyber theft or attack. If your business is not big enough to have dedicated resources to manage security strategies, this is the perfect opportunity to learn more about best practices for keeping your data secure and responding after you’ve been compromised.
Speakers include Nancy Libersky, District Director, U.S. Small Business Administration; Christophe Veltsos, a.k.a. “Dr. InfoSec”; Lizabeth Lehrkamp, White Collar Crime, FBI; Phil Schenkenberg, Briggs and Morgan, P.A.; and Jake Omann, Cyber Specialist, Ahmann Martin Risks and Benefits Consulting.
The event is hosted by Briggs and Morgan, P.A. Cooperating entities include the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
