David Keuss’ New Book Teaches Christians How to Defend Their Beliefs
Wylie, Texas (PRWEB) January 09, 2014 -- David Keuss wrote his new book, “Know Why You Know: Evangelical Responses to Postmodernism” (published by WestBow Press), to help Christians learn why their beliefs are true and how to answer to those who question or deny the validity of their Christian faith.
Keuss recognizes Christian writers D. A. Carson and James K. A. Smith as offering important ideas, based in the Bible that can help Christians know why they believe what they do. Expanding on Carson’s and Smith’s ideas, “Know Why You Know” offers readers a robust Christian response, strongly rooted in biblical teachings, for when critics question the certainty of their beliefs.
“There is a great need to offer a middle approach between modernism (expert says, exalting of the ‘I’) and postmodernism (community says, exalting of the ‘we’) so that when we give a response for why we believe what we believe, it is biblical,” Keuss writes. “This book is needed as a way to bring God back into how we know what we know with certainty, a question deep in the heart of every Christian.”
An excerpt from “Know Why You Know”:
“You are justified in holding to Christian truth as real knowledge. This is popularly called the right to ‘warrant.’ This book goes beyond warrant based on properly functioning minds into minds and hearts touched by God directly as the solution.”
For readers interested in defending their knowledge of their faith, “Know Why You Know” can help them have responses at the ready when confronted by naysayers.
