Dr. Anthony Geroulis Comments On Correlation And Rise In Cosmetic Surgical Procedures Between Social Media
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 23, 2015 -- A recent theory has emerged that social media has caused an increase in the number of non-surgical and surgical cosmetic procedures performed in the United States. According to the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, one third of the group members polled cited an increase in requests for procedures due to a patient’s concerns about how they looked on social media, especially those patients under the age of 30. This trend goes hand in hand with a general concern about social media and the idea that it can have a negative impact on many men and women.
Board-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr. Anthony J. Geroulis, who oversees an outpatient surgical facility in Northfield called North Shore Center for Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, has not found this trend to be true; however, he has not conducted a formal study with his patients to test its legitimacy.
“It may be the case that this is a rising trend in the U.S., but I cannot say for sure. I will say that a patient should never opt for cosmetic surgery because they feel pressured to do so; however, if it is truly something they really want, it is my job is to critically analyze their facial structure in order to determine the type of procedure that is best for them,” explains Dr. Geroulis.
Dr. Geroulis has been operating for nearly thirty-five years. As a clinical professor of surgery atvUniversity Chicago Medicine, Dr. Anthony Geroulis teaches the latest surgical techniques, from rhinoplasty to upper eyelid surgery to facelift procedures, to other surgeons. Additionally, Dr.
Geroulis is an accomplished sculptor and just completed his first bronze sculpture of a head and neck of an American Indian, entitled “The Warrior.” For more information about North Shore
